There's a new dating reality series coming from Netflix called Dated & Related, and the streaming service just released a trailer and premiere date. The service, which is known for its successful scripted shows like Stranger Things and the 2018 reboot of Queer Eye, has also dipped its toes into reality television too. Similar reality dating shows like The Ultimatum, Love Is Blind, and Too Hot to Handle are currently available on Netflix. Other networks have also aired popular dating reality series like Temptation Island and several iterations of Love Island, like Love Island USA, which is currently streaming its fourth season on Peacock.SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY
Recently, two contestants joined Love Island USA as the show's first sibling duo. As awkward as it may have been, Bria and Chazz Bryant watched each other connect with other contestants, similar to how Dated & Related seems to operate. They also chose each other's partners for them based on who they thought was the best fit for their sibling. There were some uncomfortable moments when one of the siblings got a little too close with another islander. There were also some heartbreaking moments, like when Timmy Pandolfi broke up with Bria, and she was later voted off the island while Chazz remained.

According to the new trailer from Netflix, Dated & Related takes situations like this to another level, and a premiere date has been revealed. The Love Is Blind-inspired show, set to premiere on September 2, is set in "a luxury villa in the South of France." The trailer starts off like any other dating show, revealing attractive singles who are hoping to find a relationship; however, this series has a catch. "You'll be joined by your brother or sister who's also looking for love," Too Hot To Handle alum Melinda Berry reads in the trailer. The teaser reveals some of the awkward situations that contestants are put into, like watching their siblings make out with other cast members.
However, there are some benefits, as contestants always have someone to uplift them when they're feeling down about dating. "I wouldn't have been able to do this without you," one contestant tells his sister in the trailer. Like Love Island and other dating shows, no one will find love without a little drama. In one scene from the trailer, a contestant confronts someone he believes has been disrespectful to his sister. While the concept of the show may seem unusual, it will likely acquire a mass following like Netflix's other shows once it streams in early September.
If anything, the show is original and is guaranteed to have tons of drama. It will certainly be interesting to watch some of the more protective stars cope with their siblings dating people in front of them. The show also emphasizes the special bond that only siblings can have with each other. Hopefully, none of the Dated & Related contestants anger anyone's siblings, but according to the Melinda-narrated trailer, this may not be a realistic wish.
