Darth Jar Jar Becomes Star Wars Prequel Villain In AI Art

The widely popular Star Wars theory that bumbling Gungan Jar Jar Binks was really a Sith Lord all along has now been realized through AI art, giving fans a glimpse as to what the character would have looked like had he been revealed as a follower of the Dark Side. Making his debut appearance in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace in 1999, Jar Jar Binks (Ahmed Best) played a crucial if clumsy role in the prequel trilogy. After initially helping to bring down the Trade Federation alongside Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson), Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor), and Padmé Amidala (Natalie Portman), he later went on to become a delegate to the Galactic Senate in Episode II: Attack of the Clones, granting emergency powers to Chancellor Palpatine and inadvertently paving the way for the latter's ascendancy to ruling the galaxy. However, Jar Jar became notorious among Star Wars fans and remains arguably the most hated character in the franchise, with many citing his annoying personality and unfunny comic relief as the reasons behind his poor reception.

But in recent years, a fan theory that Jar Jar was in fact a secret Sith Lord has gained much traction online. The fact that he often performs unusual and impressive acrobatics usually associated with Force-users, discusses with Anakin his doubts over the methods of the Jedi Order, and essentially enables Palpatine to become Emperor has led many to believe that the Gungan is actually working alongside the Chancellor in his malevolent plan. Indeed, a number of reasons have been proposed as to why Jar Jar is really a Sith Lord and some even conjectured that Supreme Leader Snoke was actually the Gungan in disguise in The Force Awakens before the character's true origins were revealed in The Rise of Skywalker.

Now, the character's supposed secret identity as a Sith Lord has finally been realized by Artificial Intelligence, and the results are nightmare-inducing. Using the online AI art creator Craiyon, Screen Rant has attempted to get a rough idea as to what Jar Jar Binks would look like if he were suddenly revealed in the canon as a follower of the Dark Side. Check out the disturbing results below:

Although the images naturally look rather rough given that they were generated purely through Artificial Intelligence, this only seems to add to the disturbing and sinister idea of Jar Jar being a Sith Lord. Indeed, the frequent discoloration and misplacement of his eyes make it appear as if he has been corrupted by the Dark Side, which is particularly unnerving given that Jar Jar was created to appeal to children. The inclusion of a red Lightsaber further contributes to this threatening aura from the Gungan, especially when considering the fact that the character is known for performing some impressive and potentially deadly stunts.

For fans who remain desperate to see Jar Jar in what they might consider his true form, this will certainly provide a chilling idea as to what he could look like were his Sith intentions to be revealed in a movie or TV series. Some might even be hopeful that this design could be confirmed in another Star Wars Disney+ series, which, given that Jar Jar almost had a cameo in Chip 'N Dale: Rescue Rangers, does seem more plausible than it has been previously. But regardless of whether the company decides to return the long-hated character to the Star Wars franchise as a Sith or not, this is certainly the most disturbing glimpse the fanbase has so far had into what Jar Jar could have been.
