Percy Jackson Set Photos Reveal More Details From Camp Half-Blood

Recent photos from the set of Disney+'s upcoming Percy Jackson TV series have given fans a new glimpse at the grounds of Camp Half-Blood. The highly anticipated streaming show is based on Rick Riordan's popular series of YA fantasy novels. The Adam Project's Walker Scobell will take on the titular role of the demigod child of Poseidon, while Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri will play his best friends Annabeth and Grover, respectively.

In Riordan's novels, Percy is taken to Camp Half-Blood, a camp for the demigod children of the Greek gods, after learning the truth about his parentage. Camp Half-Blood is staffed by the centaur Chiron (to be played by Glynn Turman) and god Dionysus (Jason Mantzoukas), and was established to train and provide a safe haven for half-bloods. A key setting in Riordan's Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, Camp Half-Blood promises to be one of the TV series' key locations as new and old fans are introduced to the world. Newly taken photographs from the set have given fans a new glimpse of the grounds.

Riordan first teased Percy Jackson's Camp Half-Blood set in a video shared on his personal Instagram in June, giving fans their inaugural glimpse at the impressive, large-scale set. To avoid revealing any possible spoilers, Riordan's video focused on showing the wilderness, with the author sharing a story about the nature surrounding the camp. Percy Jackson director James Bobin teased the Camp Half-Blood set soon after Riordan's original post, copying the author's attempts at posting spoilers by sharing an image of an impromptu, makeshift Camp Half-Blood sign on his own Instagram account. In a way, the new photos are among the clearest looks at this location Percy Jackson fans have received  yet.

Camp Half-Blood is a key part of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians franchise, with it not only being a place for the half-blood children of the Greek gods to call home, but also having a major connection to future stories and characters who will take focus in later seasons. Riordan has praised Percy Jackson's early footage and concept designs, teasing fans that the upcoming Disney+ series will be a faithful, worthy adaption. With Camp Half-Blood being a pivotal location in the world of Percy Jackson, the recently captured images and reports are sure to excite longtime fans hoping to see the world brought to life.
